"The kids had a great time on the beach - very safe and perfect for young children"

For our New Zealand guests...

Access to Omaha is by car, as by design, it is not serviced by public transport and there are no amenities such as supermarkets or fast food outlets in the Omaha beach area. It is therefore peaceful and beautiful, yet within easy reach of facilities as needed. The nearest main town, Warkworth, with supermarket and a wide range of shopping, is only 15 minute's drive away, although there are closer settlements which offer scrumptious bakeries, restaurants and cafes, milk bars & art galleries. You will find the best butcher in the southern hemisphere at Matakana Village.

Omaha beach is your perfect accommodation base. You can enjoy some of the very best coastal experiences nature can offer, play golf or tennis, visit the wineries, then relax completely in comfort and style.

Omaha beach is well signposted and easy to find, however a detailed map will be sent with your booking confirmation.

For our overseas guests...

New Zealand has a mild and temperate climate. Omaha beach is located 1 hour north of Auckland, the "City of Sails" and a cosmopolitan centre. In winter (June to August) the temperature varies from 15-18 deg C (60-80 deg F), and in summer is a pleasant 20-25 deg C (80-90 deg F). Omaha Beach overlooks the sparkling waters of the outer Hauraki Gulf, and the islands of Little Barrier and Great Barrier, with the spectacular Kauwau Island immediately south.

The Amercias Cup yachting challenge was sailed just south of Omaha and it is a yachting and boating paradise. The marine reserves of Goat Island and Tawharanui are nearby and offer spectacular diving and snorkeling.

Omaha beach is situated on a sandspit some 15 minutes east of a small town called Warkworth, and is a quiet and restful destination, uncluttered by through traffic. The ocean beach extends for some 4.5 km with white sand and is very safe for swimming. In summer it is patrolled by the New Zealand Surf Life Saving Association.
